rsvp: cookbook club 10 - tenderheart (friendsgiving with food52 and hetty lui mckinnon)
Tenderheart Reloaded
Back in February, I hosted my very first cookbook club. The book was Tenderheart: a cookbook about vegetables and unbreakable family bonds by
and 20 people were squished into my little Brooklyn one bedroom. I borrowed tables off of my local Buy Nothing Facebook group and knocked on my neighbours’ doors for chairs. It is mind-boggling, crazy, and amazing to see how these gatherings have evolved so much over the last few months.November’s cookbook club is Tenderheart (again! reloaded!) because it is one of my all time favourites. This month, we celebrate how the cookbook club community has grown in flourished into something much larger anything I could host in my apartment — Friendsgiving with Food52!
The book contains over 180 recipes on 22 essential fruits and vegetables. If you read the New York Times or love vegetable-forward cooking, you’re no stranger to Hetty’s work. She is an absolute wizard with vegetables, and her recipes are often Asian-inspired and always fresh and flavourful.
